Preserving Kids Memories

I have recently found a new addiction....Pinterest. This website is seriously amazing!!! I have found many crafty ideas on there that I can't wait to try! I also have found many great recipes and all sorts of amazing stuff on there!! Anyways some of my most favorite ideas that I have found are related to kids stuff. I love taking pictures of my son and have came up with several ideas on my own on what to do with all of those pictures that I take as well as artwork etc that my son makes.

One of the things that I planned doing for my son even before he was born was making a photo album of pictures for each year. So far I've made two of them. His first year one turned out amazing! I love using online photo sites. For his first one I used Artscow.com. They have great prices but the only downfall that I had was that designing/making the photo book took FOREVER. Their photobook making software is to the easiest to use. But all in all the book turned out great!! For the 2nd book that I made I used shutterfly.com. I absolutely love this site!! It was so easy to make. ( took me about half the time then when I used artscow) And the best part is that if you can wait to order it you can usually find a coupon code for a free photo book( just pay shipping!) I plan on making a whole bunch of these and using them to display at his graduation.

I also plan on creating a display in our new house for Layne's artwork I have found an idea on pinterest that I just fell in love with and can't wait to put it up!! Here it is:

I just think this is ADORABLE!! I also really like the idea of making a photo book of your kids artwork too. ( If you can't tell I just love photobooks!!)

I am linking this post up here today so check out the other posts over there as well.

Backpack Obsession

Layne has an obsession with backpacks. It all started a couple weeks ago when two of his friend at daycare started going to preschool. He wants to go with them so bad. But for many reasons we decided to not send him to preschool this year. Everyday when the kids go to preschool, Layne helps walk them out to the bus. He has to have his backpack on just like they do and he almost always tries to climb on the bus. His backpack is almost always filled with toys. I think It is just too cute that he loves carrying around his backpack.

Posing for a picture with his backpack. ( This day he told daddy that he had to bring his shotgun with him incase he had to shoot any geese.lol He is such a nut!)

Cheese!

Trip to Omaha Zoo

This past weekend Layne and I took a little day trip with my parents to the Omaha Zoo. Layne just loves zoos and was so excited to go!! His favorite animals at the Omaha Zoo were the gorillas, seals, and the tigers. We spent almost the whole day walking around the zoo and seeing all the animals. We had such a blast!! Thank you Grandma and Papa for taking us!!

Layne looking at the tigers. Most of them were sleeping but one was actually awake and moving around!

Trying to find the gorilla. Layne loves these bubble window things that they have in the gorilla area.

One of the parrots they had at the Zoo. Almost looks are our parrot Morgan.

A family of Bongos. The baby was born on Aug 19th...Layne loved watching the baby.

Random Thoughts Thursday

My mind is full of a bunch a random thoughts that I just want to put out there and clear my head. So excuse the bunch a nonsense that is to come!!

1) I have a pile of laundry that is waiting for me to fold it...

2) I'm addicted to Young and the Restless and really want to know who killed Diane Jenkins even though I think I have it all figured out. But it is driving me crazy that they have dragged it out this long and I just want to know who did it!!

3) I've recently made a home binder and am obsessed with it!! (anyways the menu planning section!) I just wish I could get hooked on using the calendar/to do section more. I have so much stuff to get done but lack of time/motivation to get it done. I hope that will change soon.

4) This past weekend Matt and I went to Minneapolis with another couple and went to an amusement park and stuff. We had alot of fun! I just wish people weren't so judgemental and open to trying new things that are out of there comfort zone.

5) I'm planning a few posts that I'm going to share in the near future about some things that have been on my mind. And some posts of pictures of my cute adorable son!!
